Contact RIMS

The RIMS team is available to work with University employees on all three campuses to manage, organize, or purge records and information. Please use the buttons below to contact the Records and Information Management Services office with any questions or requests you may have. Records Disposal

An important facet of our work is facilitating records disposal requests.  As of April 1st, 2025, we have deployed a new disposal request form, which should be used to request disposal approval for Administration Records, Business and Financial Records, Human Resources Records, and Student Records.  If you are unsure what kind of material you have, please refer to the Records Retention Schedules or fill out the Contact Form (linked below).

 

Disposal Request Form Please use this form for requesting disposal approval for Administration Records, Business and Financial Records, Human Resources Records, Student Records, or any combination thereof.
Contact Form Please fill out a RIMS Inventory Template and sent it to us via our email address or this Contact Form to request disposal approval of any record type not listed above.  Additionally, University of Illinois-affiliated personnel can use this Contact Form for general inquiries.
Email Us! Anyone not affiliated with the University of Illinois can get in touch with us by sending an email. University-affiliated personnel may use this option as well, though we encourage you to either use our Contact Form or the Disposal Request Form.

 

Both forms (Disposal Request and Contact) and the email address will generate TeamDynamix tickets, where you can ask questions, talk with the RIMS team, and attach notes, completed Inventory Templates, and other material.
